14. Final Blog

It is my final blog. I want to talk about what did I experienced and what did Eng-101 add to me. We had a classroom fulled with nice people. We did presentations and wrote blogs. It was a good semester. Eng 101 add me some presentation and blogging skills. Our subjects were entertaining and educating. To say educating is absurd, but we could do learn just for lessons. Subjects were suitable for earning experience in life. How to react people in terms of gender. We did not do a specific topic about it but we understand that how media wants us to think about genders. Our Reality topic was good too. We discussed and wrote an essay about it. It was a good semester and It was my final blog. Thanks to Sonja for her tutoring to our class.

13. I-Blog Paper

I am writing my I-Blog paper now. I gave a small break to complete my blogs. This paper is very useful to understand what we experienced by writing blogs. I understand that writing blogs may be useful and improve our explaning idea skills. Sonja should contunie this tradition with her other classes. This exercise may help people find their ability to write about contemporary things. Maybe someone decide be a columnist.

12. Final Exam

We did write final exam yesterday. I guess it was easy. I did choose second option, which was about comparing Killing us softly 3 and Tough Guise. I wrote 600 words. It was hard to plan and start but after that it was easy to write. I thought, it would be good when our teacher said us to read the text, which is about gender in advertisments in turkey. I hope I will get a good mark (for me) like 70 or 75.

11. Killing us softly 3

I think it is an exaggarated video. I think advertiser are doing this advertisments, which is about men products includes women beauty, because of men love women and they wanted to buy this product. Is it bad thing to show a beatiful women? I do not understand the point of it. Why we need to discuss about it? Women are not using in this advertisments in bad way. They do not abuse them. She shows and advertisment about a hair spray. It says women don't have perfect breasts. I think in the same way because beauty is a relative thing. If you say that the advertisment says people will have perfect hair, but there is no perfect hair because beauty is a relative. People know that they won't have perfect hair, but it is advertisment. Any advertisment tell the truth.

10. Tough Guise

I think Tough Guise was a good video about masculinity. Invisible masculinity is a very important situation. I never realised that before I watched video. Killing someone is not different thing, when we heard that a man killed someone. I don't think that children in high school, who caused a massacre, aren't killing people because of their willness of being man. In high school people have some popularity problem. Popular people exclude loser people and when if this situation is very intense, people called losers go mad and buying a gun and going school. I guess if we make an statistic, people who have been shot are popular people of this school. People who shoot them are want some revenge or want to suicide because of bored from their life.

9. Truman Show

Truman Show is a quiet funny film, but criticizing our life in very succesfully way. Reality TV is an important part of our lifes. We watch them on news or we watch videos on facebook, which taken from some reality shows. People love to watch and make jokes about these shows. Maybe writer wanted to tell us by this escape scene, we need to escape and remove from our lives. Truman has an awful life, because all people he know lied to him. I can't put myself in his situation.

8. The Full Monty

The Full Monty is a movie about 6 unemployed man. They live in Sheffield and they try to make money in different ways. Than Gaz, who is our main character decided to prepare a striptease show. In this movie men are understanding the situtaion about men and women thing. Firstly Dave understands that and he questionizes about making interpretation about women from their apperances. Those men are illitarate and for example they discuss about being fat. They think is being fit is a feminist thing. They don't know why it is but they are sure about it. Gaz say we will disappear and women will evolve. Actually it is impossible. I mean when literacy level increase people will understand men and women thing.
